Possibly a subspecies of White-browed Crombec S. leucophrys.


Kabobo Apalis Apalis porphyrolaema kaboboensis
Possibly a subspecies of Chestnut-throated Apalis A. porphyrolaema.


Itombwe Flycatcher Muscicapa lendu itombwensis
Possibly a subspecies of Chapin's Flycatcher M. lendu.


Ruwet's Masked-Weaver Ploceus reichardi ruweti
Possibly a subspecies of Tanzania Masked Weaver P. reichardi.


Black-faced Waxbill Estrilda astrild nigriloris
Possibly a subspecies of Common Waxbill E. astrild.


Other species semi-endemic to Congo are

Sladen's Barbet Gymnobucco sladeni

Also found in the Central African Republic.


Grauer's Cuckooshrike Coracina graueri

Also found in western Uganda.


African River-Martin Pseudochelidon eurystomina

Also found breeding in Gabon, and occurs along the Congo River in Congo Brazzaville.


Sassi's Greenbul Phyllastrephus lorenzi

Also found in western Uganda.


Ituri Batis Batis ituriensis

Also found in the extreme western Uganda.


Congo Sunbird Nectarinia congensis

Also found in Congo Brazzaville.


Stuhlmann's Double-collared Sunbird Nectarinia afra stuhlmanni

Also found on the Uganda side of the Ruwenzori Mountain.

Generally considered a subspecies of Greater Double-collared Sunbird N. afra.

Hall’s Greenbul Andropadus hallae

No longer accepted as a valid species. This is what Sibley (1996) says;

Known from one specimen from e Zaire in the range of virens seems to be a melanistic individual of virens. It is not recognized as a species by the East African List Committee (D. A. Turner, pers comm).
